Suitcase exhibition at Awards Ceremony

Bridging Arts’ suitcase exhibition I Packed This Myself will make a one-day appearance at Truro Cathedral for Cornwall Community Foundation’s prestigious Annual Awards ceremony, bringing together beneficiary organisations, donors, supporters and press.

I Packed This Myself , a travelling suitcase exhibition and Education Pack which throws a spotlight on the lives of migrant workers, has been part funded by the Local Network Fund, administered by Cornwall Community Foundation.

The Annual Awards ceremony on Thursday November 20th, 6.30-8.30pm brings together beneficiary organisations, donors, supporters and press, in order to celebrate what has been achieved collectively over the year.

Linda Whittaker, Director of Operations, commented: ‘Grant recipients, donors, Friends, volunteers, Trustees, supporters and partners will be reflecting on what we have jointly achieved over the last 12 months including the recognition of community groups and individuals in our award categories for best Community Group, Youth Group and Special Recognition 2008.’

The evening will include a performance by a circus acrobat, displays from representatives of groups and projects funded by the CCF, and a rousing set from the Cornwall Youth Choir.

The Youth Award is this year sponsored by Carillion Planned Maintenance, the Special Recognition Award by Ginsters and the Community Award by Swallowcourt Group. The Friends of CCF will also give an Award, this year on the theme of Homelessness. Coodes Solicitors will give a prize on behalf of their fellow members of The Cornwall 100 Club, the CCF’s corporate philanthropy scheme, for the best exhibition, which will be voted for by the audience on the night.
