British Sari Story 2009 competition results

The British Sari Story is a quest for a sari with a radically new style, fabric and patterns reflecting life in the UK today. We run annual competitions asking people to use the sari as a canvas. JUST ANNOUNCED: the winners of the 2009 competition are

- Zahra Ahmed, Peterborough

- Amber Ayub, Swansea

- Sarah Homfray, Kent

- Karindeep Kaur, Essex

- Sharen Kaur, London.

Amit Rastogi of sari retailer RCKC judged the competition from a fashion retailer’s point of view and was impressed by the strong field. We have some ground-breaking results this year. RCKC will be making up five shortlisted entries. The overall winner will be announced at the Knitting and Stitching Show, Alexandra, Palace this October when we will unveil the five designs.
